Purchasing Agent

Position:  Purchasing Agent

Essential Functions

  • Sourcing, negotiating, awarding and documenting purchases for materials and services in an ERP environment
  • Compiling and analyzing data to perform price analysis as well as reviewing proposals to establish best total value
  • Performing bid/proposal activities
  • Interfacing with internal customers and suppliers to ensure that the materials/services are delivered on-time and in accordance with the specifications and quality notes documented in the Purchase Order
  • Managing supplier performance to cost, schedule and quality requirements

Education and/or Experience

  • 3-5 years Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and other engineering documents
  • Time management and deadline driven skills
  • Mechanical and/or Electrical experience – a plus
  • Machine Shop or Metal Fabrication experience – a plus
  • Strong computer skills
