Position: Purchasing Agent
Essential Functions
- Sourcing, negotiating, awarding and documenting purchases for materials and services in an ERP environment
- Compiling and analyzing data to perform price analysis as well as reviewing proposals to establish best total value
- Performing bid/proposal activities
- Interfacing with internal customers and suppliers to ensure that the materials/services are delivered on-time and in accordance with the specifications and quality notes documented in the Purchase Order
- Managing supplier performance to cost, schedule and quality requirements
Education and/or Experience
- 3-5 years Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and other engineering documents
- Time management and deadline driven skills
- Mechanical and/or Electrical experience – a plus
- Machine Shop or Metal Fabrication experience – a plus
- Strong computer skills
